Anglican Church
What do we believe in?
One Lord: Jesus Christ
At Holyrood, we are first and foremost Christians. We confess that our souls have been bought and paid for by the shed blood of Jesus Christ. He offered himself as a perfect sacrifice and died in our place to bear the cost and punishment for our sins.
Two Sacraments: Baptism and Holy Communion
Holyrood is a confessional Anglican community. We believe that the Holy Bible (the Old and New Testaments) are the inspired Word of God, and that they contain all doctrine Necessary to Salvation. We also adhere to the 39 Articles of Religion and the Heidelberg Catechism as our confessional formularies. In agreement with those documents, we confess that there are two sacraments; Baptism and Holy Communion.
Three Creeds: Apostles, Nicene, and Athanasian
At Holyrood, we accept and proclaim the three Creeds of the undivided Church as essential summaries of the universal Christian faith. We believe that any Christian should be able to say the creeds without needing to "cross their fingers." We accept the creeds as being in accordance with the scriptures and believe that they contain no doctrinal error or erroneous teachings.
